How many of you who ever took your pencil and sketched a drawing of a photo ever actually picked a copyrighted photo image and then set out to usurp it's photographer's copyright as you did so?
I've started a freelance article on this topic and embarked on some faithful research. As a potential if unintentional culprit, this topic interest me. Are there really cross media concept art theives, and are venues like DA breeding or feeding them?
Can derivative art precepts in existing copyright laws even begin to hold water in the real living, evolving and fluid world of the net?
I'm a risk manager in my real life. I draw what I love. I shared it from the same place of heart. Not once was there any intent or malice to the contrary.
It's a discussion worth having in every arena, literate, artistic and legal... and so I'm off to munch the lawyers.
I'll be back! LMAO! Serioi\sly.
